a season of transition

Pastor Rudy Sheptock, our elders,
and the Metropolitan District of the Christian & Missionary Alliance,
have announced and are in the process of a major transition for The Lighthouse Church.
Pastor Rudy has resigned as the Senior Pastor of The Lighthouse Church and transitioned to be the Senior Pastor at Shamokin Alliance Church in Shamokin, PA.

The announcement above contains:
1) Pastor Rudy sharing about his time at Lighthouse and his transition (0:00-12:33)

2) Elder Micah Wenker sharing a message on behalf of the elders and praying for Pastor Rudy and his family (13:00-23:48)

3) Christian & Missionary Alliance Metropolitan District Superintendent Rev. Kelvin Walker sharing:
- About Pastor Rudy's model of integrity, honesty, Godly leadership, biblical truth, sound doctrine, and moral integrity.
- About the model of marital integrity displayed through Pastor Rudy & Terri's marriage.
- A message from Jeremiah 29 on transition.

We encourage everyone to trust our elders as they are united with our District
to guide us through this transition season.

We ask that instead of spreading conjecture or gossip that we as the church body would use this time to pray for:
- Pastor Rudy, Terri, Joel, and their transition
- The elders and district as they lead us during this time
- The current staff and ministries of The Lighthouse Church
- The future Senior Pastor of The Lighthouse Church

  • How can we celebrate and show our appreciation/support in Pastor Rudy and Terri’s next ministry chapter?
    • Based on district suggestions and thoughtful prayer and consideration with our financial team, the elders approved a blessing package that will significantly help Pastor Rudy and Terri in their own transition period.  According to C&MA district superintendent, our "blessing gift package is more than generous and worthy of honoring a Pastor and wife that have been a part of a church community as long as the Sheptocks." This is simply to show the Sheptocks our sincere thanks for the life they have poured into shepherding Jesus' bride.
    • Any monetary gift that you would like to give at a personal level can be given in cash or check (written out to Rudy and/or Terri Sheptock...NOT TLC) with a thank you card and/or envelope.

  • Will there be other staff changes because he is leaving?

    • TLC Elder Board and C&MA Metro District have chosen to hire Pastor Gary Hrynoweski as the
C&MA transitional pastor position. He will act as the transitional senior pastor for a time
period of 8 months under an agreed contract between the C&MA district, TLC Elder
Board, and Pastor Gary. We are in the process of organizing multiple positions to take
      the multiple roles Terri held.
      ○ All other staff and ministries remain the same.

  • Who is in charge of selecting the new pastor?

    • Currently, the Elder Board is the deciding factor in determining who will lead our church through the required C&MA transitional period. As of now, the elder board has chosen to have something called a transitional pastor lead us through this time period. For a more detailed layout, please see the C&MA transitional document on our church in transition webpage. If necessary, a search committee will be formed consisting of a cross section of volunteer church members.

  • Who is the new pastor?

    • At this time, no senior pastor will be chosen until the required C&MA transitional period.
Until then, the elder board at TLC has recently voted to hire Pastor Gary Hrynoweski as
our transitional pastor for an 8 month contracted time period as described above. For a
more detailed layout, please see the C&MA transitional document below.

  • What can I do to help make this transition smooth?

  • How long is this process?

time period is called a transitional period and required by the C&MA when a senior pastor
steps down for any reason. As of now, Pastor Gary is hired as the Transitional Pastor for
      a period of 8 months.
